An amazing trip to Sandals Grande Antigua – 10 days in paradise!
The resort is set on Dickerson Bay Beach which is absolutely stunning, with powder white sand and turquoise blue clear water, honestly just dreamy!
Sandals Grande Antigua is a large resort spread along the beach with 4 of the 11 restaurants set direct on the beach front with amazing views.
The resort is quite spread out so there are many pools dotted about with quite a few smaller pools located at individual accommodation blocks giving a really private feel or you can go all out at the lively main pool and swim up bar where there is always something going on!
The food drink and service at the resort was very good, however if you want to venture out there are a couple of good restaurants close by.
We chartered a catamaran for the day with Antigua Day Charters and it was a fabulous experience sailing along the cost stopping at small coves and beaches getting get island info along the way from our crew in between fab food, music, drinks and sunset! Oh and the colour of the water really does need to be seen to be believed.
The rooms at the hotel are part way though a refurbishment and the new rooms are beautiful with a Caribbean vibe going on. The refurbishment is ongoing but Sandals are managing to roll this out without too much impact on guests so not a concern for any forthcoming stays.
There are lots of fab excursions to take part in such as the sunset party at Shirley’s Heights twice a week, a trip to English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard, Rainforest Zipline & Eco-Kayak Experience to name but a few!
